Okay the biggest problem is Warren- the "super." He either has early Alzheimers, is an alcoholic, or using some other sort of illicit substance because he is not quite all there if you know what I mean. He is incredibly lazy and when asked for help with something like changing a lightbulb one could not reach without a very tall ladder he said, "Not my problem. That's not in my job description." Warren tries to make you feel guilty for ever asking him to do repairs. In the time we lived here we had a massive roach infestation, our plumbing was a disaster and apparently flooded 2 floors below us when the sink in the bathroom backed up, and my roommate's toilet did not flush for about 8 months. Oh and her shower could only get hot water that was so scalding it burned her. Whenever you asked Warren to do a repair he might agree but then he wouldnt do it and you'd have to ask again and he'd act like the original conversation never took place and like he had no idea who you even were. The only time Warren remembered you was around Christmas time when he would hang this huge MERRY CHRISTMAS banner in the lobby (never mind that I'm Jewish) and a Christmas tree and start hanging up cards and every time you saw him he'd say, "Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!" and he basically made it very, very clear if you didn't tip him youd be in big trouble next year if you needed a repair done. Now let me get to the very best part. We had suspected our landlord was greedy because when we moved in our rent was $1850. Then they raised it to $1900. The new tenants who are moving in he is charging $2200. But heres what we didn't know. Apparently he rented our apartment to the next tenants back to back. They have them moving in the day we leave! So Warren insisted on being here building a divider wall (we never had one because they wanted $500 for it and my roommate and I couldnt afford that) and painting. I was at least able to get one of the neighbors to let me put my cat in her apartment because she was cowering under my bed in fear from the saws and hammering. I definately do not recommend this building. |
