Apartment Review for Addison Hall - New York, NY

I have been a tenant of Addison Hall for 6 months and in that time I have been astounded by the lack of professionalism displayed by the Superintendent and Board Members. While the building is in a great location, has laundry and doorman services, I can honestly say that I am counting the days until my lease is up. The superintendent is completely unavailable for his tenants and apparently does not know the duties a superintendent is supposed to fulfill. For example, I recently tried to move a piece of furniture into my apartment and I asked my doorman for the superintendents number to ask when and if I could move my furniture in. The doorman said that his number was unavailable to tenants and that he would have to make the call. Ok...I was already put off that my superintendent does not allow his number to be available to his tenants but I had the doorman call him anyway. The doorman called the superintendent and asked if I could move my chair in, and if not, when the earliest time I could move it in was. I asked my doorman (while he was on the phone) if I could speak to the superintendent to which the doorman asked and superintendent refused to speak to me and proceeded to tell my doorman that i could not bring in my furniture and then, in a complete lack of professionalism and respect to his staff and tenants hung up the phone! This is just one of the many examples of the lack of professionalism displayed by the management of this building (another incident involving a mass email that was sent to everyone in the building from the superintendent where he included all the names and email addresses of every tenant in the building!) To sum up, although the building is in a great location DO NOT MOVE HERE and save yourself the paperwork, the bureaucracy, the lack of respect and the headaches! There are nicer, better, cheaper doorman apartments available in this neighborhood.
