Apartment Review for Archstone Midtown West - New York, NY

The lobby is beautiful, but beauty is only skin deep. Once you move into the building, you will find a young new management that does not respond to your needs. Service requests are discouraged and rarely fixed in a timely manner. I've had some outstanding for months. The sun-deck rarely gets direct sunlight. The pool is closed during the days and often locked due to lack of lifeguards. (Don't invite your friends on a holiday weekend.) The gym is poorly maintained and overpriced. They seem to like tenants who don't stick around with rent stabilization. So, the building is courting young students who move in with 5 friends. Security is lacking after midnight. Trust me, unless you love frustration, go somewhere else.
