Apartment Review for Astor Place - New York, NY

I have lived in a studio loft in the heart of the upper west side (75th and Broadway) for 4 years. My only complaint is the noise level, which cannot be controlled by the landlord. My apartment building is well-maintained, and it has great amenities such as hardwood floors, fireplaces (some work; others are decorative), laundry facilities on each floor, elevators, 24-hour security, gas stoves. The location is amazing - nestled between 4 supermarkets and 2 subway stations on the 1/2/3/9 line (72nd and 79th St). Compared to most Manhattan rents, mine has been reasonable although it would probably be considered outrageous by anyone outside of the city. That is, however, a cost of living in Manhattan. I would highly recommend Astor Place to anyone looking for a great location, cozy apartment, and reliable security staff.
