Apartment Review for Astor Place - New York, NY

The reviews on this apt building are extremely old. Apparently new owners purchased this building recently and have decided to completely gut renovate every apt that becomes vacant. We only moved into the building on the explicit representation that the building was quiet. This couldn't have been further from the truth. Starting at 8am, bandsaws, putting down exceptionally loud plastic on the floor, hammering, etc. Making matters far worse is the elevator situation. There is NO service elevator, so everyone has to wait practically an hour for the elevator bc of the construction workers. And when you do get the tiny elevator, it is stuff with construction workers and their equipment. Every tenant I talk is completely frustrated, and just decides to move out. Unfortunately, we have a year on our lease and are paying WAY too much money to live in a construction warzone. The broker will conveniently forget to tell you ALL of this. Beware.
